I was born on the 2nd day of February, and my older sister was born on the 3rd of the same month. While I have always appreciated the uniqueness of those numbers, today I find myself reflecting on the significance of the number three.
In Scripture, three often symbolizes completeness and divine order. We see it expressed in the Trinity—God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. We also see it in the three witnesses of the Kingdom:
“For there are three that testify: the Spirit, the water and the blood; and the three are in agreement.” — 1 John 5:7-8
Jesus was found in the temple after three days when He was twelve years old, and later, after His crucifixion, He rose again on the third day. Throughout Scripture, the number three carries profound spiritual significance.
Drawing inspiration from this, I have adopted my own 3 P’s for Effective Presentations:
1. Prepare
Understand your objective. What message do you want to communicate? What does success look like? Invest time in research and ensure your content is relevant, accurate, and impactful.
2. Practise
Confidence is built through repetition. Rehearse your presentation thoroughly. Refine your delivery, anticipate questions, and continue practising until you step before your audience.
3. Pray
As people of faith, we recognize that effective communication is not merely about knowledge or eloquence. We need the guidance and empowerment of the Holy Spirit to speak with wisdom, clarity, and conviction.
The next time you are preparing for a presentation, remember the 3 P’s: Prepare, Practise, and Pray.
Faith belongs not only in our places of worship but also in our workplaces.
