Never in the history of humankind has the human race been forced to a lockdown. But here am I in a lockdown.
As I reflect on this abrupt disruption that has caused shock waves to humanity, the following comes to mind :
Point 1: Each one of us is affected one way or the other by the pandemic. i.e., The epidemic does not discriminate. Therefore, as Christian, we need to pray for all affected, irrespective of their beliefs. Matthew 5:45 New International Version (NIV)45: – “that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous”.
Point 2: Jesus walked on earth as a man-powered by the Holyspirit not to condemn but save it. We should seek to look for ways to help nowJohn 3:16 New International Version (NIV)16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Point 3: Is the name of Jesus blasphemed or exalted around you? i.e., Are those near you eager to know your God or not? Romans 2:24 New International Version (NIV)24 As it is written: “God’s name is blasphemed among the Gentiles because of you.”
Point 4: The Lord’s ultimate gift to his children is the Holyspirit. Whenever the Holy Spirit is allowed to flow, there is change. The Holy Spirit cannot enter a place and cause no change.
Point 5: He always comes to empower his children to act as Sons!
Matthew 9:37 New International Version (NIV)37: -Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. The harvest is plenty, but the laborer’s are few”.
Could it be that the sins in the world reflect on Christians not taking up their positions as Sons of God?
Could it be that we Christians have ignored the Holy Spirit, not experiencing Healing, Salvation, and Deliverance?
In the Book of Acts 2, 120 people locked themselves in for fear of the Jewish authorities and were in prayer( Sounds familiar ), the Holy Spirit descended on each of them, and the result of this visitation was 3000 people got saved, transformed and added to the group. I am not talking about religion and more people coming to church because it’s the cool thing to do, but real transformation made possible only through the Holy Spirit.
Are men giving glory to God, or are they giving glory to you? Matthew 5:16 New International Version (NIV)
16: – “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
I don’t know about you, but allow me to summarize my Top Ten Covid-19 lockdown learnings
1.God is supreme and is to be worshipped. Therefore, I need to let my light shine for God’s glory and not for self.
2.The Holy Spirit is here, and I cannot afford to undermine or ignore his presence.
3.I must build the side of my wall and build on solid ground.
4.I must leave a continuous surrendered and yielded life to God.
5.God loves his people; I cannot claim to love God and hate people.
6.The Lord does not live in temples made by the human hand. He lives in me because I am his temple created by HIM.
7.Time alone with God. i.e., Personal devotion is a necessity.
8.The Lord is and has the final say.
9.We are all equally loved by God, but his Favor is unequal.
10.To make it a habit and Take time off my busy schedule and spent time with God.
When was the last time you took time off your busy schedule to spend it with God?
Prayer. Lord, help me prioritize time with you in my work life. Give me wisdom and divine ideas to know how to do this despite my busy schedule effectively.
